• Worked for RAI (Italian radio and television broadcasting company) from 1984 to 2004
• In 1987 became the first woman to present the television news in the early evening
• Has worked for the daily newspaper 'La Stampa', the 'Io Donna' section of the 'Corriere della Sera' , for 'Tv Sorrisi e Canzoni' and 'Anna'
• Worked with the German TV channel SWF (1988) and Pro 7 (1996) and with CBS (1999)
• Since 1988 international political correspondent for RAI
• Events covered included: the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Gulf War, visits by the Pope
• The collapse of the Soviet Union, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
• War in the former Yugoslavia
• The terrorist attacks of September 11, the Iraqi crisis and the war against Iraq
• 'Visiting scholar' at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of John Hopkins University (2002)
• For two years 'discussion leader' at the World Economic Forum of Davos
• 'William Benton Fellowship for Broadcasting Journalists' at the University of Chicago(1993)
