Abstract

The IFPI (representing the recording industry) sent this letter containing the signatures of various artists to convince MEPs to adopt the Gallo report. We decided to analyze the list...

What we found out

• a 7 years old Moldovan singer (Cleopatra Stratan)

• 69% alleged signatories come from ~18% of the European Union (5 countries out of 27)
• 5% alleged signatories come from out of EU
• 5% alleged signatories are not identified (we've been unable to find them whether on wikipedia or google)
• 5% alleged signatories appear twice or more in the list/are members of the same band but sign several times
• 8% alleged signatories are classical musicians : member of an orchestra or conductor

• the french singer Michel Sardou that previously said "I'm a pirate"
• the french singer Yannick Noah that is known to be against capitalism
• the U2 World Tour Manager
• the President of the Musicians Union of Ireland
