At 30c3 & 31c3 (German CCC Congress, 2013-12 and 2014-12) and Ohm (Dutch Hacker Camp, 2013-08), La Quadrature organized a chilling-out space, the Quadra Tea House.
This wiki page aim at defining how this space works, how we organize it etc.
Tea Organization
What we need for the teahouse :
- Tea (both with and without theine/caffeine)
- Black tea
- Blue tea
- Green tea
- Roibos
- Mate
- A little bit of rare version of those for connaisseurs (a dedicated page should be created for tea listing / memory / where we found them)
- Infusions
- Tea Cups (our small black teacups are nice, we need a hundreed of them, count 10 per table + 5 per table as a buffer waiting for cleaning)
- Tea Pots (One per table + 1 or 2 every 4 tables, as a buffer waiting for cleaning)
- Tea Filters (One per tea pot)
- Kettles (2 times 4 Liters kettle at least)
- Vacuum Bottles to keep the hot water at each table (1 per tea pot)
- 2 Jerrycan for the water supply
- 3 Basins for the washing-up
- One for the dishes buffer waiting to be cleaned,
- One for the cleaning of dishes
- One to rince dishes on hot water
- A table to do the washing up with space to let the teacups dry
- Soap for the washing-up
- Tea Towels to dry the dishes
- More Tea towels, to dry the tables (4 to 8 per table depending on the number of day the teahouse will operate)
- One bin per table (small metal coffee pot)
Tea House Process
- One Plastified, simplified, tea master instruction manual per table + 2 more just in case (link to original document needed here)
- TODO: make it contain FAR LESS TEXT than the first version
- Tell explicitely that only 2 to 4 cm of tea shall be put in the filter, and that most tea can be infused 2 times, even 4 or 5 for some.
- Two Plastified pages showing the process of washing-up (TODO)
- One plastified page per step in the washing-up (TODO, "Dirty dishes here", "Clean Here", "Rince Here")
- A list of people volounteering as Tea Masters or Tea Helpers, before the event.
Tea House Building
- Tables (wood circle around 1.5 meters diameter, 4 black metal feet, 4 screws and bolts per foot)
- Fabric, 2 to 4 colors, 20 to 50 meters depending on the size and location, may need to be ignifugated M1.
- Lamps, Led Strips, Power cords (a lot of them, with extension cords)
- A sound system (amplifier, mixing table, 2 loudspeakers, or 4, cables, audio adapters, microphone)
- A public computer with music not needing online access
- Small (A5) Plastified papers with only "Tea House, LQDN" and a kettle drawing, to attach them everywhere in the Tea House and on the Fabric
- Corks and a bunch of clamping collars (black heavy duty model and smaller one)
Tea House promotion
- Flyers talking about the TeaHouse 24/7 service,
- Flyers talking about LQDN & Friends
- Stickers with the PI Logo where the PI is a Kettle instead ? ;)
- A Donation box with small explanation (will finance the teahouse, and if better, LQDN)
