The state of emergency was established in France after the attacks on 13 November 2015. A bill was then issued, greatly increasing the powers of the police, and granting more prerogatives to administrative justice over judicial justice, damaging the separation of powers.
La Quadrature du Net has analysed the bill tabled at the French National Assembly:
Inventory of the joys (not) of the State of emergency: Collect and gather together press articles on possible abuses/divergences linked to the state of emergency. This inventory will be especially useful when we get to work on the modification of the Constitution, announced by the government in order to extend or perpetuate the state of emergency. In particular, we are interested in cases related to digital technologies.
